Step As One Disability Services in Campbelltown NSW is seeking enthusiastic Forensic Disability Support Workers to assist a young woman with complex needs in a Supported Independent Living setting. Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to NDIS participants, including capacity building and in-home assistance.

• Record progress notes, incidents and goals in client management system.
• Collaborate with participants, families and professionals to achieve SMART goals.
• Attend mandatory NDIS Worker Training and maintain competency.

Step As One Disability Services is seeking enthusiastic, committed, and compassionate Forensic Disability Support Workers in and around the Liverpool and Campbelltown suburbs of Sydney. If you have experience supporting individuals with complex disabilities and behavioural needs- including forensic support needs and involvement with the criminal justice system,we'd love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers with forensic experience to support a young woman who resides in Supported Independent Living and receives 1:1 and 2:1 assistance with daily living. Support Workers will need to be confident in trauma informed care and managing self-harming behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies and the implementation of a behaviour support plan to inform and guide their engagement.

This is not a typical disability support role. You will receive specialist training in self-harming behaviours and borderline personality disorder. As well as ongoing clinical support to work alongside participants with complex support needs, forensic backgrounds, mental health presentations and behaviours of concern using evidence based Positive Behaviour Support approaches.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience supporting participants with complex disabilities and behavioural needs.

Role Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Provide personalised support to NDIS participants, including capacity building, in-home assistance, and community access.
• Assist participants to safely and confidently engage in their communities.
• Work in line with Step As One policies, including medication administration, work health and safety, privacy, and participant rights.
• Monitor participant safety and wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly to the Practice Lead.
• Complete documentation such as progress notes, incident reports, and goal tracking using the Step As One Client Management System.
• Collaborate with participants, families, stakeholders, and other professionals to support NDIS and SMART goal achievement.
• Complete participant-specific and mandatory NDS training to maintain competency requirements.
• Contribute to a positive team culture through open communication, regular meetings, planning, and professional development/supervision.
• Provide support to other staff where needed.
• Take reasonable care for your own health and safety.
• Report any quality or safety incidents or hazards immediately to the Practice Lead.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Child Protection, Mental Health, Disability, Community Services, relevant tertiary qualification OR experience in the field.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete).
• Current Driver's Licence and comprehensive car insurance.
• Medication administration competency.
• Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application.

Mandatory:
