Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne seeks a dedicated Food Services Assistant to support patient meals and service delivery in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This part-time ongoing role covers the afternoon shift and weekend work, contributing to safe food handling and high-quality patient care.

You will plate, distribute and deliver meals, maintain hygiene across food service areas, and work as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Safe Food Handling Certificate for the Health Industry (or equivalent).
• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with patients and consumers in a compassionate and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, plate and distribute meals and beverages in accordance with food safety and quality standards.

Food Services Assistant

• Part time ongoing | 40 hours per fortnight
• Afternoon shift | 16.30 – 20.30 | including weekends
• Close to public transport | values led organisation

Food Services plays a vital role in supporting patient care by delivering safe, nutritious and culturally appropriate meals to patients across the hospital. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will contribute to meal preparation, service delivery, food safety and maintaining a clean and efficient food services environment.

This is a hands on role that requires excellent teamwork, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues.

What You’ll Be Doing

• High standards of personal presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail. Desirable
• Previous experience in a food service, hospitality, healthcare or aged care environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with patients and consumers in a compassionate and respectful manner.
