Job summary

Estia Health in Melbourne is seeking a motivated kitchen assistant to support meals for residents in our aged care home. You will prep food, help with service, and keep a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Shifts run 07:00–17:00 or 15:00–19:00. We value a genuine desire to help others, kitchen experience, good time management, and a Basic Food Handling Course. Applicants will undergo background checks and influenza vaccination may be required.

Qualifications

• A real desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
• Experience in kitchen work (aged care is a bonus).
• Great time management and planning skills.
• Completed the Basic Food Handling Course.

Responsibilities

• Prepping food and drink.
• Cleaning (including dishes) – maintain a spark in the kitchen.
• Changing up the menu with our team and residents.
• Keeping records as part of our Food Safety Program.
• Being active and on your feet for most of your shift.

About the Role

Shifts Coverage

07:00 AM to 17:00 PM or

15:00 PM to 19:00 PM

Here’s what a typical day involves:

• Prepping food and drink
• Cleaning (including dishes) – you bring a sparkle to the place in more ways than one
• Changing up the menu. You’ll work with our team and residents to create exciting meals that cater to every individual
• Keeping records as part of our Food Safety Program
• Being active and on your feet for most of your shift

You’ll be a real team player who has:

• A real desire to make a difference in people’s lives
• Experience in kitchen work (aged care is a bonus)
