Job summary

Costa House in Lara, operated by Respect, offers a part-time Food Services Assistant role within a 120-bed aged care facility set on 65 acres. Work with our Chef to prepare, serve and present nutritious meals for residents, while upholding food safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Food Handling Course.
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in residential aged care food services.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including cleaning and safe food handling.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents, while maintaining high food safety standards and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas remain clean, organised and welcoming.

This is a part-time position offering 21 hours per fortnight. The successful candidate must be available to work the following roster:

• Week 1: Thursday, 9.00 am – 4.30 pm
• Week 2: Tuesday and Thursday, 3.00 pm – 7.00 pm

As Food Service Assistant you will:

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

• Completion of a Food Handling Course
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.
