Job summary

As a Casual Food Services Assistant you will work with our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals, maintain food safety standards, and keep kitchen and dining areas running smoothly across a range of shifts, weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Food Handling Course.
• Current National Police Check & NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous experience in residential aged care food services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with menu planning to reflect residents’ needs and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About The Role

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, while maintaining food safety standards and keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly.

This is a Casual position. The successful candidates will need to be flexible to work weekdays and weekends across a range of shifts.

You’ll be joining a supportive team environment where everyone works together, and your contribution is genuinely appreciated.

No two days are the same! As Food Service Assistant you will:

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.

• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

A Desirable Candidate Would Have

• Completion of a Food Handling Course
• Current National Police Check & NDIS WC (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in residential aged care food services.
