Job summary

Respect is seeking a Food Services Assistant to work with our Chef or Cook, preparing and serving meals for residents while upholding food safety standards and keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly.

Based in a regional community, you’ll join a welcoming team where your contribution is valued. The role may include support across hotel services, including laundry and cleaning, with training and pathways for a long-term career in aged care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Food Handling Course.
• Current National Police Check/NDIS (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Physical capability to meet the demands of the role.
• A compassionate and respectful approach to aged care.
• Salary packaging up to $15,900 per year for living expenses and $2,650 for meals out or holiday accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.
