Job summary

Respect is hiring a Casual Food Services Assistant in regional Queensland. You will work with our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents while upholding food safety standards, in a welcoming team where every contribution is valued.

Based in a regional community, this role may involve support across hotel services such as laundry and cleaning. It offers a friendly, down-to-earth workplace and clear pathways for career growth in aged care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Food Handling Course.
• Current National Police Check/NDIS (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Physical capability to meet the demands of the role.
• A compassionate and respectful approach to aged care.
• Salary packaging up to $15,900 per year for living expenses, bills, rent, mortgage and groceries.
• Further $2,650 for meals out or holiday accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.
