Job summary

Respect is seeking a Food Services Assistant in regional Queensland to support meals for residents, while working with our Chef to ensure safety and smooth kitchen operations in a close‑knit team. This role is based in a regional community and offers meaningful work caring for older Australians.

You will complete a Food Handling Course, obtain police check/NDIS clearance, and bring a compassionate, team-oriented approach. A supportive, long-term career path in aged care is available.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Food Handling Course.
• Current National Police Check/NDIS clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in residential aged care feeding services.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning reflecting residents' needs and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments per the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor temperatures and goods received for safety.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About the Role

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, while maintaining food safety standards and keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly. Based in a regional community, this role offers a welcoming, close-knit team environment where everyone pitches in, and your contribution is genuinely valued. There will also be opportunities to support across hotel services, including laundry and cleaning duties.

No two days are the same!

As Food Service Assistant you will:

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About You
