We are currently seeking a Food Services Assistant to join our team, with additional cooking responsibilities on weekends.
As a Food Services Assistant, you will support the day-to-day delivery of meals and catering services within our residential aged care home. On weekends, you will take on additional cooking duties, helping to ensure our residents continue to receive high-quality, nutritious meals.
Assisting with the preparation and delivery of meals, snacks and beverages
Preparing and cooking meals on weekends in accordance with menus and recipes
Ensuring meals are prepared to meet residents' dietary, nutritional and texture-modified requirements
Assisting with plating, serving and meal distribution
Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils and food preparation areas
Following food safety procedures and organisational policies
Working collaboratively with the broader care and hospitality team
Creating a positive dining experience for our residents
We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and enjoys making a difference in the lives of older people.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a kitchen, food service or hospitality environment
Experience preparing and cooking meals, particularly in a commercial or aged care setting
An understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
The ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary requirements accurately
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A caring and respectful approach when working with older people
The ability to work independently and confidently when required
Flexibility and availability to work weekends
Experience in aged care is highly regarded, but not essential for the right candidate.
