Job summary

Respect Group Limited is seeking a casual Food Services Assistant to support our aged care kitchen team in regional Australia. You will work with the Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents while upholding food safety standards and keeping the dining areas running smoothly.

A successful candidate will have a Food Handling Course, a current National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain), plus experience in residential aged care food services.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential aged care food services.
• Completion of a Food Handling Course required.
• Current National Police Check & NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning reflecting residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About the Role

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, while maintaining food safety standards and keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly.

This is a Casual position. The successful candidates will need to be flexible to work weekdays and weekends across a range of shifts.

You’ll be joining a supportive team environment where everyone works together, and your contribution is genuinely appreciated.

No two days are the same! As Food Service Assistant you will:

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.

A desirable candidate would have:

• Previous experience in residential aged care food services.
