Job summary

Respect Group in Emerald, Queensland is seeking a Part-time Food Services Assistant to join our regional care team. You will work with our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, while upholding food safety standards and keeping kitchens and dining areas running smoothly.

Based in a regional community, you’ll be part of a welcoming team where collaboration and compassion are valued. Opportunities exist to support across hotel services including laundry and cleaning duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Food Handling Course.
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous experience in residential aged care food services.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Physical capability to meet the demands of the role.
• A compassionate and respectful approach to aged care.

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About the Role
