Job summary

Palm Lake Care is seeking a dedicated Food Services Assistant to join our team on a casual basis at our aged care communities in Queensland. You will report to the Chef Manager and help prepare, plate, and serve nourishing meals while upholding high hygiene and safety standards.

We value teamwork, exceptional resident service, and reliability. A current police check is required, and prior aged care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a current National Police Check.
• Prior experience in an aged care environment is essential.
• Be ready and willing to learn new skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a proactive support role to the cook.
• Maintain excellent hygiene standards and food handling practices.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, attractive meals to residents.
• Work with the Cook to ensure meals are plated well and presented nicely.
• Respect residents' preferences when serving food and beverages.
• Assist with serving morning and afternoon teas.
• Support ordering and rotation of food stocks with the Cook.
• Ensure dishes are cleaned after meals and maintain high cleanliness.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents and families.

Position Details

Palm Lake Care Bargarais seeking Food Service Assistants to join our team on a Casual basis.

Responsibilities

As a Food Services Assistant you will report directly to the Chef Manager and be an integral part of the team responsible for:

• The preparation of serving nutritious and attractive meals to our residents
• Working with the Cook to ensure meals are plated and presented in an attractive and appeasing manner.
• Understanding and respecting our resident's preferences and ensuring all food and beverage is served accordingly.
• Serving and distribution of morning and afternoon teas
• Assisting the Cook with the ordering and rotating of food stocks
• The cleaning of dishes after each meal ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained for our residents.
• Delivering excellent customer service to our residents and their families

What We’re Looking For:

• Motivated individuals focused on providing the best support for our residents
• A current National Police Check
• Prior experience in a similar role within Aged Care essential
• Readiness and willing to learn new skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and take initiative
• Ability to work as a part of a team in a proactive support role to cook
• Excellent hygiene standards
• A Knowledge of Food Safety Standards
