Job summary

Palm Lake Care Caloundra is seeking a Food Services Assistant on a part-time permanent basis. You will report to the Chef Manager and support the kitchen team by preparing and presenting meals, serving residents, and maintaining high cleanliness standards.

You will work with the Cook to ensure meals are plated attractively, respect residents' preferences, and provide excellent service. Relevant aged care experience and a current police check are required.

Qualifications

• A current National Police Check is required.
• Prior experience in a similar role within aged care is essential.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and take initiative.
• Teamwork in a proactive support role to the cook.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a timely, attractive manner.
• Collaborate with the Cook to ensure proper plating and presentation.
• Respect resident preferences and serve accordingly.
• Serve morning and afternoon teas and assist with stock rotation.
• Assist with food stock ordering and rotation; maintain cleanliness of dishes.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service to residents and families.
• Support the kitchen team and contribute to a positive environment.

Palm Lake Care Caloundra is seeking Food Service Assistants to join our team on a Part Time Permanent basis.

Responsibilities

As a Food Services Assistant you will report directly to the Chef Manager and be an integral part of the team responsible for:

• The preparation of serving nutritious and attractive meals to our residents
• Working with the Cook to ensure meals are plated and presented in an attractive and appeasing manner.
• Understanding and respecting our resident's preferences and ensuring all food and beverage is served accordingly.
• Serving and distribution of morning and afternoon teas
• Assisting the Cook with the ordering and rotating of food stocks
• The cleaning of dishes after each meal ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained for our residents.
• Delivering excellent customer service to our residents and their families

What We’re Looking For:

• Motivated individuals focused on providing the best support for our residents
• A current National Police Check
• Prior experience in a similar role within Aged Care essential
• Readiness and willing to learn new skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and take initiative
• Ability to work as a part of a team in a proactive support role to cook
• A Knowledge of Food Safety Standards
