Job summary

Palm Lake Care Mount Warren Park is seeking Casual Food Service Assistants to join our team. We offer day, afternoon, and weekend shifts and a supportive work culture within our aged care community.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving residents, and upholding high hygiene standards, with opportunities for on‑the‑job and online training. A current police check and prior aged care experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Current National Police Check.
• Prior experience in a similar role within Aged Care is essential.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take initiative.
• Able to manage competing priorities and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents.
• Collaborate with the Cook to plate and present meals attractively.
• Respect residents' preferences and dietary needs.
• Serve morning and afternoon teas.
• Assist the Cook with ordering and stock rotation.
• Clean dishes and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents and families.

Position Details

Palm Lake Care Mount Warren Park is seeking Food Service Assistants to join our team on a Casual basis.

Shifts Available

• Day Shift 0630-1400
• Afternoon Shift 1400-2000
• Weekend shifts available with penalty rates

Responsibilities

• The preparation of serving nutritious and attractive meals to our residents
• Working with the Cook to ensure meals are plated and presented in an attractive and appeasing manner.
• Understanding and respecting our resident's preferences and ensuring all food and beverage is served accordingly.
• Serving and distribution of morning and afternoon teas
• Assisting the Cook with the ordering and rotating of food stocks
• The cleaning of dishes after each meal ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained for our residents.
• Delivering excellent customer service to our residents and their families

What We’re Looking For

• Motivated individuals focused on providing the best support for our residents
• A current National Police Check
• Prior experience in a similar role within Aged Care essential
• Readiness and willing to learn new skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and take initiative
• Ability to work as a part of a team in a proactive support role to cook
• Excellent hygiene standards
• A Knowledge of Food Safety Standards
