Job summary

Tempo Kitchen & Bar at Novotel Geelong is seeking an enthusiastic Food & Beverage Attendant to join our award-winning waterfront dining team. You will greet guests, take orders, and ensure a seamless dining experience with accurate order placement and attentive service.

You will also maintain table setups, knowledge of menu items, upsell where appropriate, process payments, and help keep the dining area clean and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience.
• Take orders accurately and communicate special requests to the kitchen.
• Ensure correct order placement and assist with upselling menu items, beverages or desserts.
• Set up and clear tables, maintaining cleanliness at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, preparation methods and specials.
• Accurately process bills and handle cash and card transactions.
• Assist with maintaining service stations and overall dining area cleanliness.
• Support the team to deliver a memorable guest experience.

About the Role:

No 2 days are the Same - as a Food & Beverage attendant, you will be in the heart of the action. Greeting guests with a genuine smile, keeping service flowing and delivering food and drinks that make our guests keep coming back for more.

Customer Service - greet guests, take orders, and provide attentive and friendly service throughout their dining experience.

Order Accuracy - ensure accurate order placement and communicate special requests to the kitchen.

Table Maintenance - set up and clear tables, and ensure they are clean and well-maintained at all times.

Menu Knowledge - be knowledgeable about the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials.

Upselling - suggest menu items, beverages, or desserts to enhance the guest's dining experience.

Billing and Payment - accurately process bills, handle cash and card transactions, and provide change as needed.

Cleanliness - maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area and service stations.

About You:
