Job summary

NW People and a global packaging leader are seeking a strategic Production Leader for their Sydney South West operations. The role focuses on driving safety, quality, production, and cost targets while supporting a busy FMCG site.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee production operations, lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage schedules, and foster a positive, high-performing team culture across all shifts.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years' experience managing and overseeing production within a busy, large FMCG environment
• Leadership, influencing, negotiation, change management, conflict resolution and computer literacy skills
• Experience at a management or delivering continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience managing budgets/p and l's
• Understanding OHS&E standards and legal requirements and responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to develop, build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally of the organisation
• Solid experience working as part of a customer focussed organisation, with a strong emphasis on both internal and external customer service
• Experience coaching, leading, managing and mentoring effective teams, allocating resources effectively and ensuring a motivated and customer focussed team.

Responsibilities

• Implementing continuous improvement frameworks to identify and ensure production teams meet performance objectives while building capacity for future growth.
• Effectively plan and co-ordinate all equipment with both short and longer term schedules to optimise labour utilisation and maximise onsite throughput.
• Provide strong leadership, direction, and support to the operations team to deliver business objectives.
• Foster and further develop a positive workplace culture that promotes employee involvement, accountability, and mutual respect.
• Assume full responsibility for site operations in the absence of the Site Manager.
• Lead and oversee production across all shifts ensuring consistent standards of performance, safety, and engagement across all teams.
• Direct and monitor the implementation adherence to, all legal, statutory, and OHS&E policies, systems, and practices
