Job summary

Primo Foods seeks an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our Wacol site in Australia, delivering safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing outcomes. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a large production team through frontline leaders, driving safety, quality, service, cost and throughput.

This hands-on role spends time on the factory floor, embedding lean disciplines and fostering accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement across the operation.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or a high-volume production environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large teams through frontline leaders.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, WHS requirements and manufacturing compliance standards.
• Experience driving lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance safety, quality, service and cost outcomes.
• A resilient, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, food safety and regulatory requirements.
• Drive operational performance across key measures including safety, quality, service, cost, yield and throughput.
• Lead day-to-day Packaging operations to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality production outcomes.
• Coach, develop and empower frontline leaders to build capability and create high-performing teams.
• Partner closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Champion lean manufacturing principles and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
• Optimise labour, materials and equipment utilisation to maximise productivity and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, QA and site standards, maintaining audit readiness at all times.
• Monitor and analyse production performance, using data and KPIs to drive decision-making and accountability.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative culture focused on engagement, performance and growth.
