Job summary

Garden City Hotel Canberra, part of BW Signature Collection, is seeking a friendly Front Desk Receptionist to greet guests, manage check-ins and assist with reservations.

The role offers part-time or casual hours with weekends and evenings required. You will coordinate with housekeeping, handle guest requests, and maintain accurate accounts, using Opera PMS.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years hospitality experience, strong communication, and a calm, organized approach.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in hotel reception or customer service
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Flexible availability across a 7-day roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
• Must be available to work mixed day and evening shifts
• Experience with hotel PMS systems (Opera)

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Manage check-ins, check-outs, and reservations
• Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints promptly
• Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts
• Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure room readiness
• Maintain a clean and organised front desk area
• Assist with general administrative duties as required
