Job summary

Mediq Wallan Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to oversee daily clinic operations and lead a supportive team in Wallan, VIC. The role focuses on financial and administrative systems, quality improvement, and patient service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ months in practice management, strong Medicare/MBS knowledge, and proficiency with Xero and practice software. Flexible hours across ~20 per week with a patient-centered culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience in a Practice Manager or senior administration role within a General Practice.
• Experience processing payroll and financial tasks using Xero (or similar systems).
• Proficient in Medical Director, Pracsoft and HotDoc (or similar practice management software).
• Strong understanding of Medicare and the MBS.
• Current CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic.
• Manage financial processes including billings, payroll, invoicing and accounts.
• Lead and support staff through recruitment, training and performance management.
• Implement and maintain quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead clinic accreditation and compliance processes.
• Manage patient feedback and complaints professionally.
• Supervise and support the admin and nursing team, including regular team meetings.
• Provide front desk support and cover during staff leave as required.
• Liaise with and support clinic doctors
• Work closely and collaboratively with the Director to achieve business and service goals.
