Job description

Karmo is growing fast, and every vehicle in our fleet needs to be in the right place at the right time. As our Fleet Planning & Logistics Leader, you’ll own the planning and movement of vehicles across our national footprint, from dealer delivery and handover through to B2B fleet transport and vehicle returns.

You’ll work closely with the Fleet Manager, procurement, operations and customer teams to turn fleet demand into well-sequenced, cost-efficient logistics. You’ll also build the supplier relationships and data we need to keep freight spend under control as we scale.

What you’ll be doing
  • Keeping freight cost per vehicle down through route consolidation, load optimisation, carrier selection and smart scheduling
  • Negotiating and reviewing rates and service agreements with transport and logistics providers, and tracking spend against budget so variances are flagged early
  • Finding new savings, including backhaul opportunities, regional hubs and alternative carriers
  • Working with dealers and OEM contacts to confirm delivery windows, vehicle readiness and handover, raising purchase orders and following up early to protect customer start dates
  • Planning and coordinating transport for B2B, corporate and partner fleet customers, including bulk deliveries, multi-site drops, collections, redeployments, and fit-out, accessory and branding work
  • Turning fleet forecasts and procurement plans into a rolling logistics plan, balancing vehicles by location and demand to lift utilisation and reduce idle or mis-positioned stock
  • Reporting on vehicle condition as vehicles move in and out of our possession
  • Loading vehicles into our fleet system, overseeing tracker fitting, and keeping planning trackers up to date so the business can see orders, delivery dates, modifications and fleet status
What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience in fleet, vehicle logistics, supply chain or transport planning
  • A track record of managing freight costs, carrier rates and supplier performance
  • Experience working with dealers or OEMs on vehicle delivery and allocation
  • Strong planning, scheduling and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts under time pressure
  • A commercial mindset with sharp cost control and negotiation skills
  • Confidence with reporting, forecasting and fleet or transport management systems
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills across dealers, suppliers, customers and internal teams
  • A proactive, accountable and calm approach in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Working knowledge of vehicle transport regulations, safety and chain-of-responsibility requirements
It’s a bonus if you also have:
  • Experience in the automotive, vehicle rental, leasing or subscription industries
  • Experience reviewing supplier contracts and carrier rates, including tender or quotation processes
  • A tertiary qualification in supply chain, logistics, business or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience leading or coaching a team

  • Salary: Earn a competitive salary package per annum plus superannuation
  • Location: Airport West, VIC
  • Employee Benefits: Paid Parental Leave & Family Subscription Discount
  • Flexible Hybrid Rhythm: Enjoy the balance of collaborating in our Airport West (Victoria) office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for two days.
  • High-Trust Culture: Work in a highly collaborative environment that values rigorous feedback, truth-seeking, and leaving egos at the door.
  • Visibility & Growth: Build deep relationships and win through influence, working daily alongside senior leaders and domain experts across the business.
