Job summary

Brighton Tours is a Sydney-based coach and bus operator seeking a hands-on Fleet Controller to manage daily coach and vehicle allocation, maintenance coordination and depot readiness.

You will work with drivers, workshops and the Depot Manager to ensure a high-standard fleet, timely servicing, and accurate records. Salary ranges $80,000–$90,000 plus super, depending on experience. This is a stable full-time role in a hands-on depot environment with modern fleet.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bus, coach or passenger transport operations
• Previous experience coordinating a commercial vehicle fleet
• Good understanding of bus/coach operations and driver requirements
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• A current NSW Driver Licence
• Heavy vehicle or bus licence is highly desirable
• We are looking for someone who is hands-on around the depot and fleet
• You notice issues, follow up with driver/workshop and ensure repairs for the next job

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily coach and vehicle allocation
• Coordinate driver and vehicle requirements for daily operations
• Ensure vehicles are ready and available for scheduled services
• Monitor vehicle defects and follow up repairs
• Coordinate servicing, maintenance and inspections with workshops and suppliers
• Arrange vehicle cleaning, refuelling and fleet readiness
• Manage vehicle movements and parking within the depot/yard
• Communicate with drivers regarding vehicle and operational requirements
• Respond to last-minute vehicle or driver issues and coordinate replacements
• Maintain accurate fleet and operational records
• Monitor GPS and vehicle tracking systems
• Conduct regular checks of vehicles and report any issues

• Assist the Depot Manager with operational information and documentation
• Liaise with management, drivers, workshops and external suppliers
• Ensure the fleet is presented to a high standard for our customers

Job description

This is a practical operational role working closely with drivers, fleet and workshop. You will be responsible for ensuring coaches are properly allocated, maintained, clean, fuelled and ready for service every day.

About you

• Good computer skills and the ability to learn fleet/GPS systems

• A current NSW Driver Licence
• Heavy vehicle or bus licence is highly desirable
• We are looking for someone who is comfortable being hands‑on around the depot and fleet.
• You should be the type of person who notices when a coach has an issue, follows it up with the driver or workshop, makes sure it is repaired, and ensures the correct vehicle is ready for the next job.
• You will work alongside our Depot Manager, who is responsible for the company’s administration, documentation and compliance functions. This role will focus primarily on the day-to-day fleet and driver operations.
