Job summary

Angad Transport in Epping, Victoria is seeking a Fleet Controller / Bulk Fleet Allocator to join our busy operations team. The role focuses on morning shift planning, driver coordination and container movements in a fast-paced environment.

You will plan next-day operations, allocate tasks to contract drivers, manage wharf slots and optimise container utilisation. Experience with 1-Stop and Containerchain, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Fleet Controller.
• At least 2 years' experience in container transport operations.
• Proven experience managing and coordinating a fleet of trucks.
• Experience working with subcontractor and owner-driver fleets.
• Strong understanding of container transport, including wharf pickups and deliveries.
• Experience using 1-Stop and Containerchain.
• Previous experience with wharf time slotting.
• Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare next-day operations, including container preloads and driver rosters.
• Allocate jobs to contract drivers and clearly communicate start times and operational requirements.
• Book import containers promptly upon availability and allocate them to same-day or next-day runs.
• Monitor 1-Stop container lists and proactively secure wharf timeslots.
• Maintain close oversight of missed, delayed or late wharf slots.
• Maximise two-way container utilisation by matching import and export movements.
• Assist with problem-solving and operational issues throughout the day.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure internal systems are kept up to date.
• Provide strong forward planning to ensure the fleet operates efficiently.
• Coordinate wharf time slotting and container movements.

Fleet Controller / Bulk Fleet Allocator – Morning Shift

Angad Transport is an established transport and logistics organisation based in Epping, Melbourne, and we are seeking an experienced Fleet Controller / Bulk Fleet Allocator to join our dynamic operations team.

This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an experienced transport professional who understands the fast-paced nature of container transport and enjoys coordinating drivers, trucks and daily deliveries and pickups.

The successful candidate will primarily work the morning shift (Work from Home facility available for right candidate), with flexibility to assist on weekends when required.

About the Role

As a Fleet Controller / Bulk Fleet Allocator, you will be responsible for the efficient planning, coordination and day-to-day management of our truck fleet drivers.

You will need to be a confident decision-maker who can think outside the box, solve problems quickly and remain calm and focused under pressure.

About You

We are looking for an experienced transport professional who has:

• Strong understanding of container transport, including wharf pickups and deliveries
