Job summary

Candidates will read hydraulic schematics and electrical circuits, troubleshoot onsite, perform tests, and ensure high-quality workmanship. Ideal applicants have relevant fitter experience or a formal fitting qualification, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a fitter or equivalent in related roles.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and low voltage electrical circuits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for field service scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Perform allocated workshop and field work.
• Install and commission hydraulic mobile equipment and systems.
• Welding and fabrication of repairs on earthmoving attachments.
• Onsite troubleshooting and functional testing to meet specs.
• Assemble hydraulic systems per engineering drawings and specs.
• Install/replace cylinders, hoses, valves, manifolds, pumps, motors, fittings.
• Maintain safety, quality and documentation during work.

Job description

Norm Engineering Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified Fitters to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform allocated work within the workshop and in the field;
• The installation and commissioning of hydraulic mobile equipment and systems
• Welding and fabrication of repairs and fitment of accessories on earthmoving attachments
• Onsite Troubleshooting.
• Assemble hydraulic systems and components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Install and replace hydraulic cylinders, hoses, valves, manifolds, pumps, motors, and fittings.
• Fit and connect hydraulic and pneumatic systems to attachments and equipment.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and commissioning activities.
• Work to high quality & EHS standards
• Assist in maintaining a repair and maintenance registers,
• Warranty assessments,
• Pressure test hydraulic systems and components.
• Perform functional testing and ensure equipment meets operational requirements.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Record test results and complete required documentation.
• Maintain equipment, tools and work area,
• Establish, develop and maintain positive customer relationships

Qualification

• Relevant experience as Fitter or qualifications for a similar role
• Australian Citizens & Permanent Residents only
• Ability to read and interpret product & operations manuals, hydraulic schematics and low voltage electrical circuits
• Ability to work independently
• Analytical & Problem-solving skills
• A strong background in Field Service experience
