Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd in Rockhampton seeks an experienced Machinist/Fitter to produce quality components in a busy CRC workshop. You will operate CNC and conventional machines, read engineering drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

The successful candidate will hold a Trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent) and demonstrate safety-minded teamwork while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a large, supported Cat dealership

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fabrication or machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality components by machining, repairing and fabricating to specifications.
• Operate CNC and manual lathes, mills, boring machines and related equipment.
• Read drawings and work instructions to deliver accurate outcomes.
• Inspect finished work to ensure tolerances and quality requirements.
• Maintain safe and efficient workshop practices and participate in process improvements.
