Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd in Rockhampton is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our CRC workshop. You will produce quality components, operate CNC and manual equipment, and read technical drawings to ensure tight tolerances are met.

The role requires a trade qualification and machining experience, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork. This is a permanent, Monday to Friday position with opportunities for growth and continuous training.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification – Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) Machining, Fitting & Machining, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Machining experience – experience operating CNC and/or conventional machining equipment.
• Strong technical skills – ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Attention to detail – commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal rework.
• Team player – able to work collaboratively while also managing individual tasks effectively.
• Safety minded – committed to maintaining high workplace health and safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities
