Job summary

Ventia is seeking an Electronics Technician to join the Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Amberley, QLD. This role moves beyond the bench into field fault tracing and part replacement on Defence weapons, vehicles and equipment.

You will gain exposure to control systems and unique Defence electronics, turning your passion for electronics and problem solving into a rewarding career with Ventia.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen with NV1 defence clearance.
• Trade certificate required: Certificate III in electro-technology communications.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electronics equipment such as radios, navigational aids and radar systems.
• Proficiency with MILIS, SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Able to maintain and calibrate equipment including gauges, binoculars and compasses.
• Experience maintaining high/very high frequency radio systems in a defence context.

Responsibilities

• Fault trace and part replacement on defence weapons, vehicles and equipment.
• Work on control systems and defence assets in field settings.
• Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain electronics equipment in the Defence fleet.

A great opportunity for an Electronics Technician to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at the Military Units in Amberley, QLD.

This is not your typical assembly line Electronics Technician role. This unique position allows you to step away from the workbench and step into the field, completing fault tracing and part replacement on Defence weapons, vehicles and equipment.

About You

• Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain NV1 defence clearance
• Recognised trade Certificate III in electro-technology communications Encouraged to apply: Transferable experience from related technical disciplines. Relevant disciplines may include, but are not limited to: Avionics, Electronics, Electronics and Networking or IT and Communications.
• Demonstrated ability to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain electronics equipment such as radios, optical instruments, navigational aids, laser range finding equipment, electro-optical / electro-mechanical systems, radar systems, electronic vehicle control systems and electronic surveillance and detection systems
• Possess demonstrated competencies in the use of computer IT applications. MILIS, SAP and Microsoft Office Suite are preferred
• Demonstrated ability and experience to maintain and repair and calibrate equipment (i.e. gauges, binoculars, compasses)
• Demonstrated ability and experience to maintain module level high frequency and very high frequency radio systems in the radio fleet to a medium level of repair, using a repair facility
