Job summary

Limitless Recruitment in Heidelberg West VIC is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to build, assemble and test high value equipment from the ground up.

You will work on specialised hydraulic lifting systems and custom machinery, reading drawings, testing circuits, and using precision tools in a busy workshop. Weekdays, day shift, permanent full-time with onsite responsibilities and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings to determine specs, sequence, and tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and diagnostic testing.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately.
• Experience with precision measuring tools in a fast paced workshop.

Responsibilities

• Fitting and assembling precision ferrous and non ferrous parts, subassemblies, and complete custom machinery.
• Testing, diagnosing, overhauling, and assembling hydraulic lifting equipment and fluid power circuits.
• Reading engineering drawings to determine specs, sequence, and tight tolerances using precision measuring tools.
• Utilising workshop machinery to press, cut, grind, bore, and drill materials to fine specifications.
• Occasional travel for specialist onsite installation, testing, or maintenance.

Our client is a market leading Australian owned manufacturer delivering custom special purpose equipment and ground support systems to industries across the globe. Due to strong growth, they are looking for an experienced trade qualified Mechanical Fitter to join their high performing workshop team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Working on specialised hydraulic lifting systems and custom machinery, your daily focus will include:

• Fitting and assembling precision ferrous and non ferrous parts, subassemblies, and complete custom machinery.
• Testing, diagnosing, overhauling, and assembling critical hydraulic lifting equipment and fluid power circuits.
• Reading engineering drawings to determine specs, sequence, and tight tolerances using precision measuring tools.
• Utilising workshop machinery to press, cut, grind, bore, and drill materials to fine specifications.
• Occasional travel by road or air for specialist onsite installation, testing, or maintenance.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or Australian Recognised Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.
• Solid working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and diagnostic testing.
• Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately.
• Valid driver licence (essential) and forklift licence (highly regarded).
• Physically fit, keen eye for detail, and a collaborative team attitude in a fast paced workshop.
