Workfast is seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join the workshop team in Chipping Norton, NSW. This hands-on role focuses on overhaul, testing and certification of air brake components used in rail applications.

You'll perform mechanical assembly, interpret drawings, and follow maintenance procedures while maintaining safety and quality. The position offers consistent full-time hours and a temp-to-perm pathway for the right candidate with immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience.
• Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar).
• Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous).
• High attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Physically fit and reliable.

Workfast is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the workshop team of a leading engineering company in Chipping Norton.

Location: Chipping Norton, NSW
Pay Rate: $53.75 per hour + Overtime + Super
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

This is a hands‑on role involving the overhaul, testing, and certification of air brake components used in diesel‑electric locomotives. The position offers consistent full‑time hours and the potential to transition into a permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overhaul, test, and certify air brake components used in rail applications
• Perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
• Interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
• Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
• Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a safe work area
• Operate hand and power tools as needed

About You

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on workshop experience
• Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar)
