Job summary

L&D Micro Tunnelling in Carrum Downs is seeking a Fitter & Machinist for a casual 3-6 month assignment. Typical hours are 7.00am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, with some weekends and overtime.

You will maintain and assemble drill heads and equipment, respond to breakdowns on-site, and contribute to the development of new R&D tunnelling equipment. Must be trade-qualified, have a White Card, and read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitter & Machinist) with 2+ years experience.
• White Card or Red Card is required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

Job description

L&D Micro Tunnelling are seeking a Fitter & Machinist to join our team. We are based in Carrum Downs and work on civil construction projects throughout Victoria, primarily around Melbourne, Gippsland and the southeast suburbs.

This is a casual position for 3-6 months. Typical work hours are 7.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday with some weekends and overtime required.

• Work on new R&D tunnelling equipment

About you

• White Card or red card
• Australian trade Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical trade (Fitter & Machinist) with a Minimum of 2-year experience trade qualified
• Strong ability to read, interpret and apply technical and engineering drawings
• Adept in Mig welding, fabrication, Manual lathe and Milling machines
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to be innovative
• Own reliable transport
• Physically fit
• Available to work Monday to Friday
• Reliable, hardworking, motivated and willing to learn new skills and add value to the team
• Excellent pay rates and immediate start
