Job summary

Maxima invites applications for the First Nations Information Technology Traineeship in Sydney. This 12-month program will train and place you in Smartgroup’s technology environment, providing first-level support, equipment setup, and hands-on IT skills development.

You will learn under experienced mentors, with opportunities to log incidents, configure devices, assist users, and create support documentation while following security and privacy guidelines.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and accept guidance and feedback.
• Genuine interest in technology and starting a career in IT.
• Basic familiarity with user accounts, passwords and access permissions (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Set up and configuring laptops, monitors, and IT equipment.
• Help remote users resolve basic technology issues.
• Log, update and follow up incidents and service requests.
• Assist with password, user accounts and access issues.
• Provide basic support for printers and scanning devices.
• Support meeting room technology and video meetings.
• Assist with technology setup for new employees.
• Maintain accurate asset and equipment records.
• Create and update help guides and support documentation.
• Keep users informed about progress of requests.
• Elevate complex issues to experienced team members or vendors.
• Follow security, privacy and safety requirements.
