Job summary

Maxima Group Training seeks a Trainee Accountant to support the finance team with transactional accounting and finance support activities. The role offers a structured learning path with guided work, remediation projects and exposure to improvements for operational efficiency.

Location is Sydney NSW, with a 12-month traineeship and mentors guiding your development. You will handle invoices, payments and routine transactions, contribute to month-end tasks, and maintain accurate records while

Qualifications

• TAFE-level qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, business or related discipline (completed or in progress).
• Desirable exposure to financial services through study, work placement or finance environment.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, refunds and other routine finance transactions accurately and on time.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking activities and employee expense processing.
• Complete data entry, account maintenance and transaction matching with accurate records.
• Respond to finance enquiries and monitor shared team mailboxes.
• Prepare routine reconciliations and investigate outstanding items for accuracy.
• Assist with month-end activities including reports, journal uploads and documentation.
• Contribute to remediation, data cleansing and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain workpapers, records and trackers to ensure audit-readiness.
