Job summary

Smart offers a First Nations Information Technology Traineeship in Sydney, NSW. The 12-month program develops IT skills through on-the-job learning, mentoring and structured activities. Duties include setting up devices, basic user support, incident logging and maintaining asset records.

You will work under mentors to gain industry-relevant IT experience, with opportunities to learn about security, privacy and vendor support while contributing to daily IT operations.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.
• IT qualification, certificate, traineeship or related study is desirable.
• Familiarity with user accounts, passwords and access permissions (desirable).
• Experience using a service desk or ticketing system to log and follow up requests (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Setting up and configuring laptops, monitors, and mobile devices.
• Logging incidents and service requests and following up with users.
• Providing basic support and password/access help.
• Assisting with technology setup for new employees and meeting room tech.
• Maintaining asset records and creating support guides.
