Job summary

SIFA - Shooting Industry Foundation of Australia operates a Toowoomba gun shop offering firearms, safes, ammunition, hunting gear and batteries. The role is a full-time retail position focusing on customer service, product knowledge and sales support in-store and by phone.

Hours are 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with every second or third Saturday 8am–12pm. An RDO every 3 weeks is provided. A valid firearms licence is essential; reloading experience is a plus but not required.

About Us:

As Toowoomba’s leading gun shop, we are proud to offer a wide range of products including gun safes, new guns, used guns, ammunition, hunting gear, and quality batteries. Conveniently located in Oakey only a short 20 minute drive from Toowoomba. Come and visit the team at The Barn.

Overview:

We have a position available for a full time employee who loves shooting, hunting and the outdoors, and has experience within these fields. The roles are within the sales/customer service area of our business. The role is primarily targeted at serving customers and providing professional advice to them in the retail space. The hours worked will be 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, including every second or third Saturday 8am to 12pm, depending on the agreement between the employee and management. We offer an RDO system that operates on a 3-week rotating roster so you get an RDO every 3 weeks. An interest in the firearms and shooting industry is essential and applicants without firearms experience or a current firearms licence will not be considered for this position. Reloading experience is preferred however not essential.

Key Selection Criteria:

• As the first point of contact for our business, you need to tidy in appearance & have good people skills.
• You need to have strong computer skills - this is essential.
• Extremely good attention to detail - given our industry and the products we sell, it is critical to complete all the necessary steps and processes accurately.
• Strong time management & communication skills - if you are unsure of anything, you must be keen to ask for clarification and assistance from your team members. We are a friendly and supportive team, and wish to maintain that standard.
• Previous experience in retail would be an advantage.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid QLD Category A and B Firearms Licence - essential
• Hold a QLD Driver’s License
• A Forklift Licence would be advantageous but is not essential
