Job summary

Cranfield Group in Sydney is seeking an experienced Fire Tester to join our growing fire protection team. You will test, inspect and maintain a range of wet and dry fire systems across commercial and industrial sites, ensuring compliance with AS1851 and safety standards.

You will work both independently and with the service team, handle routine testing schedules, complete accurate reports, and liaise with clients and site representatives.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fire Tester/Fire Technician.
• Experience with wet and/or dry fire systems.
• Understanding of AS1851 compliance and testing.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Driver's license (NSW).
• FPAS accreditation highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Fire Tester looking for a role with a growing, well-established fire protection contractor?

We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Tester to join a highly regarded fire protection business with a strong reputation across the Sydney market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across wet and/or dry fire systems who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional team.

The Role

Working across a variety of commercial, industrial and high-profile sites, you will be responsible for the testing, inspection and maintenance of a range of fire protection systems, ensuring they remain compliant, operational and safe.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting routine monthly, six-monthly and annual testing in line with AS1851.
• Testing and servicing wet and dry fire systems, including fire panels, hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers and associated equipment.
• Fault finding and identifying system defects and required repairs.
• Completing service reports, compliance documentation and logbooks accurately.
• Liaising professionally with clients and site representatives.
• Responding to breakdowns and service requirements when required.
• Working collaboratively with the wider service and technical team.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Fire Tester / Fire Technician.
• Experience across wet and/or dry fire systems.
• Good understanding of AS1851 compliance and testing requirements.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
• NSW driver's licence.
• Relevant fire industry qualifications, licences or FPAS accreditation will be highly regarded.
