Job summary

Marble Group is partnering with Sydney fire protection providers to recruit experienced Fire Technicians and Testers across commercial, residential and industrial portfolios. Roles involve servicing, testing, fault-finding and reporting on fire detection and alarm systems, with career progression into Senior Technician or Supervisor roles.

You will work with a supportive team, enjoy stable permanent roles, and competitive hourly rates from 45 to 60+ per hour, with a company vehicle and tools

Qualifications

• Must have NSW driver’s licence.
• Hold a Certificate II or III in Fire Protection, Electrical Trade, or an Open Cabler Licence.
• Strong fault-finding capabilities and practical understanding of Australian Fire Standards.

Responsibilities

• Test & inspect fire systems to AS1851 standards.
• Diagnose faults, perform loop testing, and repair fire detection, alarms and emergency lighting.
• Complete accurate digital service reports and logbooks in industry software.
• Provide professional, safety-focused on-site customer service.

Job description

We are partnering with several of Sydney's leading fire protection service providers who are expanding their teams due to major contract wins. We are looking for experienced Fire Technicians and Testers across all specialities to service commercial, residential, and industrial portfolios across Sydney.

• Dry Fire Technicians: Focus on servicing, maintaining, programming, and fault-finding on fire detection and alarm systems.
• Multiskilled Technicians: Experience across multiple asset types, including testing and tagging, portables, hydrants, fire doors, and basic wet/dry systems.
• Fire Panel Specialists: High proficiency in testing, maintaining, and repairing major systems including Simplex, Notifier, Ampac, Honeywell, and Firesense, alongside EWIS systems.

What You'll Be Doing

• Testing & Inspection: Maintain, test, and inspect fire systems to ensure compliance with Australian Standards (AS1851).
• Fault Finding: Diagnose faults, perform loop testing, and repair fire detection, alarms, and emergency lighting systems.
• Reporting: Complete accurate digital service reports and logbooks using industry software (such as Simpro).
• Client Relations: Provide professional, safety-focused customer service while operating on-site.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Proven background in fire safety services, electrical testing, or a relevant fire protection trade.
• Licences: Valid NSW driver's licence. Hold a Certificate II or III in Fire Protection, Electrical Trade, or an Open Cabler Licence (highly regarded).
• Skills: Strong fault-finding capabilities and a practical understanding of Australian Fire Standards.
• Attributes: Reliable, safety-focused work ethic with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
