Job summary

Johnson Controls Cairns is seeking an experienced Fire Technician to service and install fire protection systems across diverse client sites. You will perform inspections, maintenance, fault-finding and upgrades to ensure compliance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • QBCC licence and relevant industry qualifications.
  • Current Queensland Electrical Licence.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining fire protection systems.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and time management skills.
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of customer sites and recommend appropriate fire protection and safety solutions.
  • Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire protection systems and equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities in accordance with Australian Standards.
  • Complete installations and system upgrades as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with WHS requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Fire Technician to join our Cairns team.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, repairs, and installation of a broad range of fire protection systems and equipment. You will work across a diverse customer base, ensuring systems remain compliant, reliable, and performing at their best.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of customer sites and recommend appropriate fire protection and safety solutions.

  • Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire protection systems and equipment.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities in accordance with Australian Standards.
