Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Technician in Cairns to maintain, service, fault-find, and install a range of fire protection systems. You will work with a diverse client base to keep systems compliant, reliable, and performing at their best.

The role requires QBCC and Queensland Electrical licences, hands-on experience with fire protection equipment, and a strong focus on safety and customer service. This is a site-based position with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• QBCC licence held and valid for Queensland work.
• Current Queensland Electrical Licence and fire system experience.
• Experience servicing, maintaining fire protection systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect customer sites and recommend fire protection solutions.
• Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire protection systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per Australian Standards.
• Complete installations and system upgrades as required.
• Ensure work complies with WHS requirements and safety practices.

About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Fire Technician to join our Cairns team.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault-finding, repairs, and installation of a broad range of fire protection systems and equipment. You will work across a diverse customer base, ensuring systems remain compliant, reliable, and performing at their best.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of customer sites and recommend appropriate fire protection and safety solutions.
• Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire protection systems and equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance activities in accordance with Australian Standards.
• Complete installations and system upgrades as required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant WHS requirements.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

• QBCC licence and relevant industry qualifications.

• Current Queensland Electrical Licence.
• Experience servicing and maintaining fire protection systems.
