Job summary

Johnson Controls Brisbane is seeking an experienced BMS Technician to join the Queensland Service Team. You’ll maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise sophisticated building automation systems across mission-critical sites, with a focus on safety and client satisfaction.

Based in Brisbane, you’ll work across diverse customer sites, supported by national technical staff and a global organisation committed to your development. A current Australian Driver’s Licence is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience in Building Automation, BMS, or Building Controls.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical services.
• Experience diagnosing and servicing BMS controls and field devices.
• Electrical Licence (Disconnect/Reconnect) essential.
• Strong IT, networking and system integration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding capability.
• Outstanding customer communication skills.
• Proactive safety and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system and communication faults.
• Deliver contract servicing and reactive breakdown support.
• Conduct system performance analysis and optimisation.
• Prepare quotations and manage small upgrade projects.
• Commission and validate control system modifications.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through technical expertise.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with standards.

This role is ideal for a seasoned BMS professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working across diverse customer sites, and building trusted relationships with clients. You'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising sophisticated building automation systems that support mission-critical operations.
