Job summary

Johnson Controls in Brisbane is seeking an experienced BMS Technician to join our Queensland Service Team. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise sophisticated building automation systems for mission-critical operations across diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in Building Automation, BMS, or Building Controls.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical services.
• Experience diagnosing and servicing BMS controls and field devices.
• Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect Licence (essential).
• Strong IT, networking, and system integration skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving and fault‑finding capability.
• Outstanding customer communication skills.
• A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated HVAC control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system and communication faults.
• Deliver contract servicing and reactive breakdown support.
• Conduct system performance analysis and optimisation.
• Prepare quotations and manage small upgrade projects.
• Commission and validate control system modifications.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through technical expertise and responsive service.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.
