Job summary

AECOM in Perth seeks a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead design across major building and infrastructure projects, balancing hands‑on technical delivery with leadership, client engagement and discipline development in a growing Building Engineering team.

You will oversee fire protection systems design, ensure NCC/AS compliance, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical and structural engineers to deliver integrated solutions. Australian citizenship preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in Fire Protection/Services Engineering with design and delivery.
• Experience leading medium to large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Strong technical capability across fire suppression, water, detection, EWIS systems.
• Engineering degree with professional accreditation (NER, RPEQ or FPAS) or eligible.
• Experience using Hyena, Revizto, Revit or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design across complex projects to construction.
• Provide high-level input across wet and dry systems including hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, gas suppression, detection and EWIS/evacuation.
• Over‑see design compliance with NCC, Australian Standards and authorities.
• Act as a key client interface and support business development initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with other disciplines.
