Guardian Service and Maintenance in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a reliable Fire Door & Smoke Alarm Inspector to join our growing team. You will perform scheduled inspections, testing and reporting across residential and commercial properties in Sydney and surrounding areas.

We value candidates with fire protection experience or a strong willingness to learn. Training is provided, and you will work with an experienced office and operations team to ensure compliance with AS 1851 and related

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting fire doors and/or smoke alarms or willingness to undertake training.
• Clear understanding of AS 1851 and related inspection/maintenance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and reliability.
• Able to travel between sites and manage daily workload.
• Willingness to complete training and develop knowledge in fire protection.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and testing of fire doors and smoke alarms.
• Identify defects and compliance issues during inspections.
• Complete electronic service reports and inspection documentation.
• Take photographs and record accurate information on site.
• Liaise with building managers, residents, clients and office team.

Guardian Service and Maintenance - Sydney CBD NSW

Guardian Service & Maintenance is seeking a reliable and motivated Fire Door & Smoke Alarm Inspector to join our growing team.

This role involves carrying out scheduled inspections, testing and reporting of fire doors and smoke alarms across residential and commercial properties throughout Sydney and surrounding areas.

Previous experience within the fire protection industry is preferred; however, we are also open to applicants with the right attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Training can be provided to the right applicant.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine inspections and testing of fire doors and smoke alarms
• Identifying defects and compliance issues during inspections
• Completing electronic service reports and inspection documentation
• Taking clear photographs and recording accurate information while onsite
• Liaising professionally with building managers, residents, clients and our office team
• Ensuring allocated jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
• Following company procedures and relevant Australian Standards
• Maintaining company equipment and vehicle in a clean and professional manner

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience inspecting fire doors and/or smoke alarms, or is willing to undertake training
• Has a clear understanding of AS 1851 and the inspection and maintenance requirements relevant to fire doors and smoke alarms
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Is reliable, organised and able to manage their daily workload
• Is comfortable using a mobile phone/tablet and electronic job management systems (Uptick)
• Has good written and verbal communication skills
• Presents professionally when dealing with clients and residents
• Is able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Takes pride in completing work correctly the first time
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Full Australian working rights
• Ability to travel to different sites throughout the working day
• Willingness to complete required training and further develop knowledge of fire protection systems and compliance requirements
• Relevant fire industry qualifications, licences and previous inspection experience will be highly regarded.
• For applicants without previous fire industry experience, the ability to learn and understand AS 1851, compliance requirements and company inspection procedures will be essential.
