Job summary

Design & Build in Griffith, NSW seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance team. Based in Griffith with relocation options, you will oversee AR/AP and drive statutory and management reporting.

You will report to the CFO, manager day‑to‑day operations, and partner with senior leaders to improve processes and procurement practices across the business.

Financial Controller | Agribusiness | Relocation - Griffith, NSW

An established and growing agribusiness is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance team in Griffith, NSW.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial information is available to support statutory and management reporting, analysis and forecasting.

This is a hands‑on leadership position where you will oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions while working closely with senior leadership, operational teams and key stakeholders across the business.

Location & Relocation:

This role is based in Griffith, NSW, and presents an opportunity for Sydney-based finance professionals looking to make a regional move. Candidates based outside the area must be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and support the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, providing day‑to‑day guidance, training and performance management.


• Develop work plans and drive operational outcomes across the team.


• Partner with senior leadership and department heads to improve financial processes and procurement practices.

Accounts Receivable

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices.


• Monitor collections, manage customer accounts and support effective debt recovery.


• Liaise with operational and supply chain teams regarding outstanding accounts and customer matters.

Accounts Payable

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices.


• Follow up outstanding queries with relevant department heads.


• Prepare and execute payment proposals, ensuring visibility of accrued liabilities.

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Lead the monthly financial close process.


• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals and monthly depreciation.


• Support related‑party accounting activities.


• Prepare management reporting across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.


• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).


• Provide accounting support across related business entities as required.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A CA or CPA qualification.


• Previous experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior accounting position.


• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team.


• Experience overseeing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.


• Strong financial reporting, month‑end and compliance capabilities.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.


• A collaborative, proactive and solutions‑focused approach.


• A sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.


• A current driver's licence and the flexibility to support operational requirements when needed.

Experience within agribusiness, agriculture or another operationally complex industry will be highly regarded.

Experience working with offshore finance teams would also be advantageous.
