Job summary

Talent Finance is partnering with a key client to appoint an experienced Financial Controller for its Sydney operation. The role offers genuine ownership of the finance function and close collaboration with senior leadership in Australia and a UK-based Group Finance team.

You will lead financial reporting, controls, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and compliance, delivering commercial insight to support major business decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with CA ANZ/ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Australian financial reporting, taxation and compliance.
• Experience in international or multi-entity environments.
• Commercial mindset with stakeholder exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong financial controls and procedures.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity and working capital.
• Deliver management information, KPIs and Group reporting.
• Lead budgets, forecasts and long-term financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis, scenario modelling and commercial insight.
• Manage Australian statutory reporting, audit and tax requirements.

Talent Finance are partnering with a key international client to appoint an experienced Financial Controller for its Sydney operation.

The opportunity

This is a broad, hands on role offering genuine ownership of the finance function in Australia and the opportunity to play a key part in how it develops moving forward.

Working closely with senior leadership in Australia and an international Group Finance team based in the UK, you will take ownership across financial reporting, controls, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and compliance, while providing the commercial insight needed to support key business decisions.

There is also a real opportunity to shape and develop the finance function, strengthen processes and controls and establish a robust financial framework to support the continued growth of the Australian business.

The role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting
• Developing and maintaining strong financial controls, processes and procedures
• Managing cash flow forecasting, liquidity and working capital
• Delivering management information, KPI and Group reporting
• Leading budgets, forecasts and longer term financial planning
• Providing financial analysis, scenario modelling and commercial insight
• Managing Australian statutory reporting, audit and tax requirements
• Partnering closely with senior operational leadership
• Supporting commercial and investment decisions
• Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and systems

What we’re looking for

You will be a qualified accountant, ideally CA ANZ, ACA, ACCA or equivalent, with strong experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role.

You will bring:

• Strong knowledge of Australian financial reporting, taxation and compliance
• Experience across audit, statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
• Experience within an international or multi entity environment
• A commercial mindset and confidence working with senior stakeholders
• A hands on approach and willingness to get into the detail
• A track record of improving finance processes and controls

Experience within engineering, manufacturing, technology or another project led environment would be advantageous, although we are open on sector.

What’s on offer

Salary: A$180,000 to A$195,000 + super

Location: Sydney, NSW

Contract: Permanent
