Job summary

Rombola Family Farms, based in Griffith, NSW, seeks an experienced Financial Controller to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead AR and AP and provide timely financial information for statutory and management reporting and forecasting.

About the Opportunity

Rombola Family Farms is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for ensuring the availability of accurate and timely financial information to support statutory and management reporting, analysis, and forecasting.

As a key member of the Finance team, you will lead the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions while working closely with operational and business leaders across the organisation.

About the Team

The Finance team works collaboratively to provide processing, reporting, forecasting, and financial modelling of operational and financial data. Through accurate analysis and reporting, the team supports informed decision-making and helps the business operate efficiently, effectively, and proactively.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and support the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams.
• Provide training, operational leadership, and performance management.
• Work closely with the Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, and department leaders on accounts receivable processes and procurement practices.

Accounts Receivable

• Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing.
• Support effective collection activities and customer account management.
• Liaise with the Supply Chain team regarding collections and customer matters where required.

Accounts Payable

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices.
• Ensure timely follow-up with department leaders on outstanding matters.
• Prepare and execute payment proposals, including visibility of accrued liabilities.

Accounting Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation.
• Support related party accounting activities.
• Provide support to Dee Vine Estate as required.

Reporting & Compliance

• Lead the monthly financial close process.
• Prepare Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reporting for management.
• Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS).

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to develop work plans and achieve planned outcomes.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Well-developed relationship management skills with the ability to build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
• A current driver's licence.
• Flexibility to support operational requirements when needed.
