Job summary

Vinarchy is seeking a Regional Financial Controller, East to lead corporate accounting across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. You will drive technical accounting leadership, governance and timely reporting, reporting to the Group Financial Controller on a 10‑month parental leave contract.

You will lead a team of five finance professionals, partner with senior stakeholders and ensure smooth delivery of financial reporting, governance and audit activities.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with significant corporate accounting and governance exposure.
• Strong financial reporting, audit management and technical accounting capability.
• Experience leading teams in a complex, international organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and reporting activities.
• Oversee annual financial statements, consolidations and compliance reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex matters.
• Support audit, board and shareholder reporting requirements.
• Drive strong governance, controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of five; identify improvements.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Regional Financial Controller, East is responsible for leading the Corporate and Financial Accounting function across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. You'll provide technical accounting leadership, ensure strong financial governance and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting across the Group.

This 10-month parental leave contract is a great opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within a global business. Leading a team of five experienced finance professionals, you'll play an important role in supporting the team, partnering with senior stakeholders and ensuring the smooth delivery of financial reporting, governance and audit activities.

Joining an established and capable team, you'll have the support needed to make an immediate impact while gaining exposure to a complex international business.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting activities.
• Oversee annual financial statements, consolidations and compliance reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance across complex accounting matters.
• Support audit, board and shareholder reporting requirements.
• Drive strong financial governance, controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of five while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

You’ll be CA or CPA qualified with significant experience across corporate accounting, audit or advisory environments. You'll have a strong grounding in financial reporting, governance, audit management and technical accounting, along with previous experience leading teams in a complex organisation.

We’re looking for a people-first leader who can build strong relationships, provide clear direction and work effectively with stakeholders across the business. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach will be key to success in this role. Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or consumer goods will be advantageous, although not essential.
