Crestline Search partners with a large Australian construction and engineering group to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for a 12–15 month fixed-term contract. You will lead a national finance team and oversee monthly reporting, year-end accounts and external audits.

Working with senior leadership, you will strengthen controls, drive process improvement and explore finance technology, automation and AI to improve reporting and efficiency across the business.

Qualificações

• 12+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• CA qualification or equivalent.
• Leadership experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance.
• Extensive statutory reporting and external audit experience.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop the finance team and oversee performance.

About the Role

I am partnering with an established Australian construction and engineering business to find an experienced Financial Controller for a 12–15 month fixed-term contract. With over 2,000 employees nationwide, the business offers an opportunity to lead an established finance team within a substantial national organisation.

You will oversee monthly financial reporting, year-end accounts, external audits and statutory compliance, taking responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Working closely with senior leadership, you will strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and support finance operations across the business.

You will also lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, supporting their professional development and encouraging a collaborative working environment. Alongside your core financial responsibilities, you will contribute to finance transformation initiatives, exploring opportunities to improve reporting and efficiency through automation, artificial intelligence and other finance technology.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

• 12+ years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• CA qualified.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Extensive experience in statutory reporting and external audits.
• Experience managing financial reporting across multiple entities or locations.
• Strong understanding of Australian tax and statutory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong financial controls, cash flow and working capital expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
