Job summary

Calderys in Australia seeks a Finance Controller to lead month-end close, prepare financial statements, and partner with site management. Based in Unanderra, NSW, you will drive accuracy and compliance across GAAP/IFRS frameworks. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; master's or CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
• 5–8 years in a senior finance role with team leadership.
• Strong GAAP and IFRS knowledge.
• Proficient in English; experience with Shared Services is a plus.
• Experience with SAP, FCC/Oracle desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and deliver full trial balance and financial statements.
• Ensure timely month/quarter/year-end reporting.
• Analyse data and create management reports via BI tools.
• Support site management with financial insight and controls.
• Manage provisions, accruals, and capex depreciation.
• Coordinate statutory filings and audits; liaise with tax consultants.
• Oversee treasury and weekly cash flow forecasting.

Job Role: Finance Controller - Australia

Experience: 5+ Years

Location: Unanderra, NSW, Australia

Responsibilities:

Reporting / Accounting:

• Manage month-end closing activities delivering a full trial balance, financial statements (Balance Sheet, income statement and cashflow)
• Ensure that month-end, quarterly and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time
• Analyse financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders through BI tools
• Provide financial data to support site management and controlling
• Validate provisions and accruals
• Responsible for monthly reporting in the Group tool (FCC Oracle)
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records: submission of all ancillary accounting obligations
• Responsible for local annual audit
• Manage Capex: accounting, definition of useful life & depreciation method in respect of accounting Standards
• Monitor Regulatory changes of accounting
• Previous experience of working with off shore Shared Service team is desirable

Tax:

• Responsible for statutory filings, Co-ordinate with tax consultants for tax filing and tax returns
• Working knowledge of tax is desired for monthly reporting

Cash management:

• Manage treasury activities and weekly cash flow forecast

Internal control:

• Ensure management procedures are put into practice, contributing to projects and driving implementation of new solutions in finance

Education, background, level of experience

The more common skills and attributes that are most required may include, but not be limited to:

• 5 - 8 years' experience in a leading finance position as a Senior Accountant with an experience in managing and developing a Finance / accountant team
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting is the minimum requested but a profile who also has earned a master’s degree in accounting / finance or certification such as certified public accountant (CPA)/ACCA or certified management accountant (CMA) are preferred
• Good knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS)
• High level of efficiency and accuracy.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multi tasks / project and meet tight deadlines, is analytical and highly organized
• Work comfortably with Shared services and global teams
• Proficient in English is a must
• Proficient in financial software as SAP, FCC(Oracle) is desirable
