Job summary

Crestline Search partners with a large Australian construction and engineering group to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for a 12–15 month fixed-term contract. You will lead a national finance team and oversee monthly reporting, year-end accounts and external audits.

Working with senior leadership, you will strengthen controls, drive process improvement and explore finance technology, automation and AI to improve reporting and efficiency across the business.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• CA qualification or equivalent.
• Leadership experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance.
• Extensive statutory reporting and external audit experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team and oversee performance.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting and ensure accuracy.
• Manage month-end and year-end close and balance sheet integrity.
• Lead statutory reporting and the external audit process.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and tax obligations.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Review results, variances and financial risks.
• Maintain strong financial controls and governance across the business.
• Partner with senior management on financial and operational issues.
• Drive improvements in finance systems, reporting and processes.
