Job summary

Tungsten Mining NL in Western Australia seeks a Financial Controller to lead the finance function, ensuring financial integrity and providing insights for strategic decisions across the organisation.

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, forecasting and treasury, while building a high‑performing finance team and driving process improvements in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5+ years as a Financial Controller in an ASX-listed resources company.
• 10+ years in the resources sector.
• Experience with moving from construction phase to an operational mine.
• Strong leadership and change management capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Manage statutory compliance, taxation and audit requirements.
• Support Board, Audit Committee and ASX reporting obligations.

• Provide commercial analysis and advice to senior leadership.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Improve systems, processes and internal controls across the business.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller is a key leadership role responsible for the financial integrity of our business including financial and management accounting. You'll lead the finance function, partner with operational leaders and departments and provide the insights that help drive strategic decisions across the organisation. Additional role responsibilities include the following.

About You

You are an experienced finance leader within the resources sector who combines strong technical capability with commercial acumen. You enjoy partnering with stakeholders, developing teams and turning financial information into meaningful business outcomes. To be considered for this position, you will possess the following.

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 5+ years as a Financial Controller within a ASX listed resources company
• 10+ years' experience within the resource sector
• Previous exposure moving from construction phase to an operational mine
• Strong people leadership capabilities and change management skills
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and financial reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
• Experience with ERP systems (Sap4/Hana) and finance process improvement initiatives
