Brisbane Mining Group is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our Brisbane-based headquarters. This hands-on leadership role offers autonomy, exposure to international reporting and significant growth opportunities within the resources sector.

Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee financial reporting, treasury, budgeting and controls while mentoring a small finance team and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting skills within a complex corporate environment.
• Experience in financial and management reporting, statutory accounting and treasury.
• Track record of preparing financial statements, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Lead the preparation of half-year and annual statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis and reporting for the CFO and Board.
• Oversee financial reporting and statutory compliance for international subsidiaries.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting and cash flow modelling.
• Manage Group treasury activities, banking relationships, cash balances and foreign currency transactions.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain strong financial controls and reporting processes.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance and administration team.
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial planning, risk management, process improvements and other strategic initiatives.

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a Brisbane headquartered mining business experiencing significant growth.

This is a broad and influential role offering genuine autonomy, interesting technical accounting challenges and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the business.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take responsibility for the Group's financial reporting, treasury, budgeting and financial controls, while leading a small finance team.

Whilst currently operating on a small scale the business is positioned for significant growth and with operations across multiple jurisdictions the position also offers exposure to international reporting and tax.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership position with a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

Lead the preparation of half-year and annual statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis and reporting for the CFO and Board.

Oversee financial reporting and statutory compliance for international subsidiaries.

About You

You will be a technically strong, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and working across a broad range of financial responsibilities.

Ideally, you will offer:

Strong technical accounting skills, ideally gained within a complex corporate environment.

Demonstrated success managing financial and management reporting, statutory accounting and treasury.

Proven experience preparing financial statements, budgets and cash flow forecasts.

Excellent Excel skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.

A hands on approach to supporting and developing finance staff.

An appetite for a high growth environment and embracing challenges head on.
